England's Under-21s and Portugal's Under-21s meet for a place in the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship semi-finals at the Ramaz Shengelia Stadium on Sunday 2 July.

England qualified for the Round of 16 as winners of Group C, collecting maximum points in three games and winning all games 2-0.

Portugal finished second in Group A and secured a spot in the Quarterfinals.

Cameron Archer and Harvey Elliot scored

points in the first half to propel the Young Lions to victory.

The winner of this match will face either Israel or Georgia in the semi-finals.

The two sides met eleven times. Portugal led 6-4.

Portugal won 2-0 in the last game of the group stage of Euro 2021.

Seven of their last eight games have been scored under three points. England are the only team not to concede a goal in the tournament.

The

team that scored the first goal has won seven of their last eight games in this game.

Portugal have lost just two of their last 18 games and won 14. The English

are clearly not among the favorites to take part in this tournament, but their impressive start has earned them a spot at the top of the favorites list.

Portugal got off to a slow start but recovered and now has a chance to do better than second place two years ago.

The Portuguese came out on top in the last match between the two teams.

But England's dominance of the tournament will restore confidence in Lee Carsley's side.
