FIBA World Cup 2023:

The US qualified for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Semi-Finals after beating Italy 100-63 in the Quarterfinals. They followed Serbia, who beat Lithuania 87-68.

Competing at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay on Tuesday (May 9,), Italy, aided by Utah Jazz star Simone Fontecchio, was unable to repeat a dazzling performance as they silenced Serbia. in round two. The accuracy of their shots was chaotic.

This can be seen in the three point shot. Only seven of the 38 trials are registered, even if it is the main Italian weapon. As a result, they were defeated in the first place. Italy led 14-24 in the first half and 24-46 in the second.

The United States played madly in the third half, scoring 37 points to 20. Italy won 19-17 in the final round, but the point difference was too big. The United States made it through to the semi-finals with a 100–63 victory.

11 out of 12 American players scored, of which Mikal Bridges was the highest. He scored 24 points, followed by Tyrese Haliburton with 18 points. Austin Reaves scored 12 points, the rest were in the double digits.

On the Italian side, Fontecchio scored 18 points and Stefano Tonut 11 points. The rest are not at the top in terms of numbers. In the semi-finals, the United States will meet the winner of Germany against Latvia, which took place on Wednesday (September 6).

Previously, on the same venue, Serbia had left Lithuania unbeaten in the group stage and second round. Lithuania took a 25-24 lead in the first half, but Serbia recovered in the next round to lead 49-38, 73- 55, 87-68.
